"La Maison Lautier" is an historic village house in Lagrasse, known for its 8th century Abbey de Lagrasse, and classed as "One if the Most Beautiful Villages of France".

Lagrasse is Situated between Narbonne (20 minute drive), with its beautiful Mediterranean beaches and Carcassonne (30 minutes), the nearest airport. The town center is a mere 5 minutes walk, with several commercial facilities including a superb wine shop, a well-stocked epicerie and several excellent restaurants.The traditional market stalls are set up on Saturdays. The surrounding area is primarily vineyards, thyme-scented garrigue and pin?de.

This timber-frame-built house was recently renovated, is listed as an historical monument and enjoys the privilege of the village conveniences as well as countryside life. It has has spacious accommodation for a maximum of 6 people. There is a shop on the first floor. A private stairway leads to the living, dining area and kitchen on the second floor.Stairs lead to the sunny 3 bedrooms and bathroom. Stairs lead to a sunny loft area for reading and art work.

The house has been lovingly refurbished and decorated with local antiques. The owner, a designer/ artist exhibits her original art on the ancient house walls. All bedding, towels and kitchen utensils are provided. Kitchen includes cooking utensils, stove, oven, fridge, and coffee machine . Almost next door, in the square next to the house is one of the most pleasurable features of the area: the bakery! Several excellent restaurants are to be found in town, and nearby are several more, including the renown La Fargo. Summer swimming is refreshing in the Orbieu River, which winds its way through the village. Cycling and hiking in the Corbieres are a "weekend warrior's" dream.

The key features of the area include the 8th century abbey, the vineyards, and just 30 minutes away - Carcassone - with its renown medieval walled city. Nearby are the mysterious Cathar Castles and several other monasteries.
