How much does it cost to list my property on Scenic Rentals?

How do I create a property listing?
  1. Click the green “Owners Click Here to List Your Property” tab located on the top right of any ScenicRentals.com page.
  2. Register yourself (create a profile) by filing in the required information. This includes a valid email, your full name, a password of at least 6 characters, and an appropriate phone number.
  3. A message will appear confirming your new account with Scenic Rentals. Choose “Click here to go to your Control Panel”.
  4. Click on “Add Property” in the left-hand column.
  5. Navigate to the location in which your property is located by drilling down through the list of provided destinations. Note: If your location does not exist please send us an email at support@scenicrentals.com.
  6. Click “Submit Your Property”
  7. Create your property description by filling in all required forms on the page, including basic property information, location, and rates.
  8. Make your property even more appealing by filling in all of the optional fields on the page, including Testimonials, Nearby Activities, Extra Amenities, and Where to Eat. Not only do vacationers appreciate the additional information, the search engines can generally better index your property page if you provide more content.
  9. Click “Submit”
  10. Upload up to 12 pictures
  11. Review your new listing to verify its accuracy


 
How do I edit my existing property listing?
  1. On the “Property Owners” menu choose “Login to manage my listings”
  2. Enter your email address and password, and then click “Submit” to login
  3. Once you are logged in choose whether you wish to “Edit Details” or “Edit Photos” for the appropriate property
  4. Make all desired changes
  5. Click “Submit”


 
How do I view my inquiries?
  1. On the “Property Owners” menu choose “Login to manage my listings”
  2. Enter your email address and password, and then click “Submit” to login
  3. On the main owner page, choose “View Inquiries”
  4. When your Property Ads appear, click “View Inquiries” next to your desired property


 
How do I change my User Information?
  1. On the “Property Owners” menu choose “Login to manage my listings”
  2. Enter your email address and password, and then click “Submit” to login
  3. On the main owner page, choose “Change User Info”
  4. Make all desired changes to your basic owner information, filling in all required fields
  5. Click “Submit”


  How do I change my password?
  1. On the “Property Owners” menu choose “Login to manage my listings”
  2. Enter your email address and password, and then click “Submit” to login
  3. On the main owner page, choose “Change Password”
  4. Enter your new password of at least 6 characters
  5. Re-enter your new password
  6. Click “Submit”


  Any suggestions for avoiding scams?
    It is fairly common for property owners to only accept personal checks as their method of payment. If the vacationer is paying via personal check, make sure they pay in advance.

    Tips For Avoiding Potential Fraud:
    1. A common scam is that a "vacationer" will overpay, and then ask for you to return the difference. Never accept payment for more than the amount due for the rental. If you are paid or offered more, do not accept the payment.
    2. Do not confirm payment (ie send a receipt) until at least seven days after you have deposited the check with your bank. By waiting seven days, the payment will have had time to clear and you'll know for certain that the funds from the renter are officially in your bank account now. If you have any suspicions, ask your bank for advice or simply tell the guest the property is no longer available.
    3. Never do rental business with international renters who ask to use an escrow service.


     
    I can’t log on. What do I do?

    Have you forgotten your username or password? Your username is your email address and your password is the combination of characters you created when registering your new account with Scenic Rentals. If you have forgotten your password, please go to the Owner Account Page and enter your Email address in the appropriate field underneath the “Forgot your password” title and our automated system will email you a new password. If you continue to have difficulty please contact us at Support@ScenicRentals.com.


     
    My pictures won’t upload. What do I do?

    Generally pictures will not upload for one of two reasons. Either the pictures are too large or they are not in the correct format. If your pictures are larger than 500K please resize them using basic photo editing software such as Picasa, Adobe Photoshop, or your Photo Printer’s editing program. If you do not have photo editing software, feel free to send your pictures to Support@ScenicRentals.com and we will be happy to resize and post your pictures for you! Please include “Photo Upload” in the subject line of your email and include your property id and/or property location.


     
    The Property Counter next to the destination name is not including my property?

    No Worries! As long as you can view your property page your property has been uploaded successfully and potential renters can see it as well. The counter is updated at the end of every business day and should reflect your new listing within 24 hours. If it has been over 24 hours and you still do not see your property reflected in the Property Counter, please contact us at Support@ScenicRentals.com.


     
    I don’t see my destination listed. How do I request a new destination?

    It’s easy! Just write to us at Support@ScenicRentals.com and let us know what destination you would like us to add and we will make sure to add it as soon as possible. Please be specific when describing the country/region/state in which your destination is located.


     
    What are the guidelines for property listings?

    Individuals listing properties must ensure the content of their listings are safe for all viewers. Do not use vulgarity or any comments that are sexual, racial, violent, or inappropriate. Property listings will be cancelled without refund if their content is deemed by Scenic Rentals as inappropriate. If any property description information is misleading or considered fraudulent by complaints of vacationers or at the sole discretion of Scenic Rentals, the ad will be cancelled without refund. Listings can only contain contact information in the designated “Property Contact” field. No contact information can reside in any of the other sections of the ad. This protects you from spam and additionally helps you recognize when inquiries come from Scenic Rentals. We may reject or delete a property listing if it contains references to multiple properties.
    Scenic Rentals reserves the right to reject or edit any property listing submitted at our sole discretion. Once material has been submitted and posted on the web site, it becomes the property of Scenic Rentals and may not be copied from the Scenic Rentals web site without written permission. No URL's to other websites are allowed unless approved specifically in writing by Scenic Rentals.


     
    How do I make my property a “Featured Rental”?

    Featured rentals are currently handled on a monthly contract basis. If you would like additional exposure for your property the featured property listing is certainly a great way to do it. Simply email us to inquire about current rates and availability.
