Paris Rentals By Owner
Upon entering Paris, many tourists are quick to hop on the Metro, take it to the Trocadero stop, race up the escalator, and run down the streets past the many keychain vendors until the awe-inspiring Eiffel Tower is finally in view. A trip to the Parisian city hasn’t begun until you see the Eiffel Tower, so it’s best to knock it out in the beginning. If visiting the tower at night, you’ll get the added bonus of a sparkling light show every hour, on the hour. Many other sights are a short walk from Trocadero. The Champs-Elysees and the Arc de Triomphe blend into one another while walking along the water in Paris, and all of the high-end designer shops and many Parisian cafes are located in this bustling area as well. On the way to visit Notre Dame, a must-see in Paris, stopover at the catacombs. Eerie yet interesting, the mass graves of the catacombs are a big part of European history. Notre Dame is filled with beautiful stained-glass windows and old religious artifacts. Walk down the river from Notre Dame, past all the street vendors selling old books and small works of art, and you’ll eventually stumble upon the massive Louvre Museum. Inside see great works of art like Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and St. John the Baptist, the un-armed sculpture of Venus de Milo, and a sprawling collection of Egyptian and Medieval art. The nightlife of Paris is whatever you make it to be. For low-key bars and great Italian food at night, head to Place d’Italie, or the Italian district of Paris. Every other restaurant serves pizza so good you’ll realize just how much closer you are to Italy. But for a heartier good time, visit the famed Moulin Rouge. The Moulin Rouge puts on an exciting dinner theatre nightly, and the bars around the red windmill building stay open and rowdy until the early morning. Go to the area a little earlier and visit Sacre Coeur, the Church of the Sacred Heart, another beautiful Catholic church of Paris. Be sure to save half a day to wander around Pere Lachaise. Pere Lachaise is basically the graveyard of who’s who in Paris. It is the final resting place of Chopin, Oscar Wilde, Gertrude Stein, Marcel Proust, and lead singer of the American band The Doors, Jim Morrison, among thousands of others. The graveyard has also erected a monument to every concentration camp during WWII. The history of the great tourist destination of Paris, France is rivaled by few cities. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
