Israel Vacation Fun Facts
Israel Vacation Rentals and Lodging
If you choose Israel for your next vacation rental, you can be sure that your vacation rental will be full of sacred sites and ancient wonders. This small country was home to much of various religions’ recorded history, including the life and travels of Jesus. You can start your tour of Israel attractions in Nazareth. This town is known as Jesus’ hometown and is now the largest Arab city in Israel. In Nazareth, you can visit many sacred and holy sites, such as the Basilica of the Annunciation, where Mary was supposedly told of her upcoming birth, and St. Joseph’s Church, where Jesus reportedly had his carpentry shop. Next on the list for Israel attractions is Jerusalem. In this ancient city you can’t help but be awed by the massive Western Wall, built over 2,000 years ago and a surviving remnant of the Temple Mount. Anyone is welcome to approach and pray by the wall, provided their head is covered and they are not baring their shoulders or wearing shorts. Be sure and time your visit to the Western Wall on a Friday evening – locals celebrate the coming Sabbath with singing and dancing. While you’re in Jerusalem, be sure and visit the Shrine of the Book, where some of the Dead Sea Scrolls are kept, or Al-Aqsa Mosque, where Mohammad, the prophet of Islam reportedly ascended to Heaven. While you’re on your Israel holiday, make your next stop the Sea of Galilee. This large, freshwater lake is where Jesus supposedly walked on water and is near one of the locations where he might have delivered the Sermon on the Mount, at the Mount of the Beatitudes. This beautiful lake shore is also where Jesus recruited several of his apostles. Even those who are not looking for a religious holiday can find lots of things to see and do on Israel vacations. Go and float in the Dead Sea – this sea is the lowest point on earth and has such a high salt concentration that anyone can float easily on its surface. Or visit Mount Carmel – this region, often referred to as "God’s Vineyard", is a UNESCO biosphere reserve due to its high concentration of different species of flora and fauna. Or head over to the Red Sea and relax at one of the many resort beaches located there. Whatever Israel attractions you visit, you can be sure that an Israel vacation rental is a one-of-a-kind vacation rental experience that is not to be missed! |
