Arcadia, like many northern cities, doubles its population and fun during the summer. Michigan weather during the warmer months is very mild and pleasant, so the state and its many beautiful cities are frequented and come alive during the summer holidays. On the third weekend in July, Arcadia comes together to enjoy arts and crafts, food and refreshments, a parade, and nightly entertainment. A 5K race and cart racing also takes place during Arcadia Daze . As a small community, Arcadia works hard to protect its charm and history. The Arcadia Historical Museum has a big hand in this. The museum, located in an old historic home, has taken great care to collect the history of the city, both tangibly and orally, display their findings in the exhibit hall. The museum has also created a Walk Along Old Lake Street that takes tourists through a guided tour of the historic street. The Arcadia Historical Museum includes pictures in its tour packet, so that tour-takers can feel how the city must have been in the early twentieth century.
