Belsize Park is home to many celebrities who spend time in London. Notting Hill has a popular shopping market open on the weekends, and Soho and Chelsea are home to many great cafes and boutiques. The British Museum is the oldest running museum in Europe, and admittance is free to the public. A unique museum in London is the National Portrait Gallery. The National Portrait Gallery is home to a Tudor gallery of royal portraits, portraits of many famous writers like Lord Byron, James Joyce, and the Shelleys, and the Warhol-version of Queen Elizabeth. With daylight ending at about five o'clock every day, the nightlife in London is always alive. Locals head to the pubs straight after work for a pint of English beer, many clubs—mainly located in the Mayfair district—open their doors after dinner to enjoy fancy cocktails like vanilla mojitos and dance to house music, and the theatre district cuts on its lights. Popular musical productions like Wicked, Aladdin, and The Lion King are shown nightly in London. For a piece of theatrical history, visit the Globe Theatre where Shakespearian plays were once performed in London.
