Steamboat Springs Vacation Rentals and Lodging
Located in the Rocky Mountains , Steamboat Springs is positioned amidst gorgeous mountains views and picturesque hot springs. The town’s greatest attractions are its hot springs. Steamboat Springs offers two hot springs that are open to the public. The oldest and most dynamic hot springs are the Old Town Hot Springs, which have multiple pools and two slides. The other is the Strawberry Park Hot Springs, which has two pools and natural rock features. A good thing to know about the Strawberry Park Hot Springs is that clothing is optional after dark; therefore, minors are not allowed at these hours! But this might be worth it because of the awesome star-gazing opportunities that present themselves at these springs. The Yampa River flows through the middle of Steamboat Springs, and annually, on the first weekend in June, the city hosts the Yampa River Festival. It includes all types of fun water sporting competition, like a white-water downriver race and a kayak rodeo. There is also a Hot Air Balloon Rodeo that takes place in the summer as well. June is a busy month in Steamboat Springs as it also has an annual marathon, half marathon and 10K in this month. This marathon, simply named the Steamboat Annual Marathon, has been named one of the most scenic marathons and as a top 10 destination marathon. While the summer’s activities still attract visitors, winter sports are now dictating a traveler’s time in Steamboat Springs. The city has played venue to many skiing competitions, and the Steamboat Ski Resort attracts skiers of all levels. In February, Steamboat Springs has its annual Winter Carnival that helps to raise money for the Winter Sports Club and has ski jumping, parades, and fireworks. Whether you visit in the summer or the winter, you’re sure to stay entertained in Steamboat Springs. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
