Over the years, Silverthorne has become a hybrid of a lot of different cities in Colorado. After a huge flood, buildings from the nearby Old Dillon were moved to Silverthorne. Most famously, the Old Dillon Inn was transplanted. The most memorable thing about the Old Dillon Inn is that the neon sign that hung in the bar only read "BA" because the R never worked. Unfortunately the old bar was actually closed in 2007, but the building still remains as a landmark of the city.

The Eisenhower Tunnel connects Silverthorne to Denver and many other major destinations and ski resorts in Colorado. The Eisenhower Tunnel also has helped the build-up of shopping destinations in Silverthorne. Tourists can visit the Silverthorne Factory Outlet Stores and the City Market for a low-key activity while in town.
