Colorado Springs Vacation Rentals and Lodging
Colorado Springs, Colorado sits at the foot of one of world’s most famous mountains: Pike’s Peak. Pike’s Peak is actually the second most visited mountain in the world behind Japan’s Mt. Fuji. As the peak farthest east in the Rocky Mountain chain, Pike’s Peak has long been a popular destination. Guests can travel the well-hiked Barr Trail, one of the longest in Colorado, they can take out a Bellyboat, a self-propelled boat allowed on the Crystal Reservoir, and they can find solace in the abundant wildlife viewing. Pike’s Peak is populated with big-horn sheep, black bear, and whistle pigs.
Despite its grand and earthy backdrop, Colorado Springs has quickly become a modern and urban area. The nightlife in Colorado Springs has both native and international options. Any type of food can be found in the downtown area, whether it be Japanese, Mexican, or Italian. One of the unique attractions in Colorado Springs’ nightlife is a speakeasy style bar, the 15C Club. It’s a great place for a before dinner cocktail if you like to feel a little rebellious! Another great attraction of the city is the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Founded in 1926, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo now has over 550 animals from over 100 different species. To view nature some more, there is also the Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center. Garden of the Gods is a registered National Landmark that features sandstone formations and an HD that explains just how those rocks got there. Located just 60 miles south of Denver, the state’s capital, Colorado Springs is a convenient city to visit and become acquainted with Colorado’s history and culture. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
