Estes Park Vacation Rentals and Lodging
Estes Park’s claim to fame is Stephen King’s past visit that had him change the locale of his book The Shining from an amusement park to a hotel located on the outskirts of the town. The Stanley Hotel, the hotel King based his fictional hotel upon, is a great landmark to visit because of its beautiful English architecture. The hotel actually continuously plays the movie-version of The Shining on its televisions. That’s not to say the town is creepy though. It’s not at all. Estes Park, Colorado is a lovely scenic town located in the Rocky Mountains close to the Rocky Mountain National Park. The town is a popular spring and summertime retreat. During the spring, Estes Park always hosts its annual Jazz Fest and Art Walk. In the town’s Performance Park, great jazz and art are showcased for two days. In June, the town hosts the Wool Market, which is an event that hopes to spread awareness about the use of natural fibers. The biggest festival to take place in the summer in Estes Park is the Scandinavian Festival. This festival celebrates the summer solstice—the longest day of the year—with food, family, flowers, and fun. In the fall, the town hosts Autumn Gold, a festival with brats, bands, and beer. Besides, of course, skiing in the winter, another attraction in Estes Park is its annual Christmas Parade. The day after Thanksgiving marks the start of the Christmas season for the town, and as night approaches on that day the town twinkles with parade floats. Every season, Estes Park comes alive. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
