Located in the northwestern out islands of the Bahamas, the Berry Islands offer a true getaway for your beach vacation rental. The Berry Islands are made up of about thirty small islands and one hundred tiny cays. Many of the islands are owned by luxury cruise or by individuals—the Berry Islands are said to have the largest number of millionaires per square mile of anyplace in the world. Being little known and hardly developed at all, these islands offer a wonderful, unspoiled beach experience.
 
The permanent settlement is the village of Bullock’s Harbor on Great Harbor Cay, without about seven hundred permanent residents. At under seven miles long and 1.5 miles wide, Great Harbor is the largest of the Berry Islands. Here’s where you can rent a bicycle, golf cart or car to get around from your vacation rental. You can also rent a boat to go sport fishing, snorkeling or exploring around the little cays. Great Harbor Cay has miles of natural white beaches, as well as limestone caves and small bays—an excellent place for long walks and scenic hiking.
 
Great Harbor Cay is haunted by the ghosts of old Hollywood—Cary Grant, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. and Ingrid Bergman, among others, used to vacation here, staying at the now abandoned Sugar Beach Hotel.
