The town of New Castle, Delaware located in New Castle County, Delaware is an amazing place to visit, especially for those interested in history and old world charm.
 
While you are in New Castle, there is no need for a car -- everything to do and look at in town is within walking distance. Take a walk down the beautiful cobblestone streets and brick sidewalks. Take a look inside all the cute little shops and antique stores and grab a bite to eat at local restaurant Jessop’s Tavern and Prince on Delaware.
 
On the third Sunday in May for the past 84 years, New Castle has held a home and garden tour in town. This tour includes old homes, public buildings and churches. Many homeowners even wear colonial attire. If you are in town at this time, the tour is an event you will not want to miss. This is not the only time you can visit historical buildings in the area though. There are many public buildings such as the Reed House & Garden, the Old New Castle Courthouse or the Old Library Museum.
 
New Castle is the perfect place to visit to capture history and breathtaking scenery by the Delaware River and local gardens. This is a vacation you will surely never forget.
