Augusta Rentals By Owner

Augusta, Georgia is the largest city in East Central Georgia, located in Richmond County, Georgia.
 
Augusta’s biggest claim to fame is that golf’s most prestigious event is held there every year, The Master’s. This tournament is held at the Augusta National Gulf Club and is played in by only the best golfers in the world.
 
Another thing August is known for is being the hometown to legendary singer James Brown. James Brown lived in very poor conditions when he lived in Augusta with his aunt. He would sing and dance for the local soldiers to try and earn a little extra money for the family. James Brown is recognized in many different ways here in the city of Augusta such as the James Brown statue and James Brown Arena.
 
If you are interested in spending some time outdoors while in Augusta, spend an evening at the Riverwalk Augusta. Visit the gift shop and relax as you watch the boats come in and out of the marina. Bring a picnic and watch the sunset over the beautiful Savannah River. There is also a beautifulo wetlands park called the Phinizy Swamp Nature Park that has many walking and biking paths for your enjoyment.
 
For all you history buffs out there, there are plenty of interesting places to visit. Spend a few hours at the Augusta Museum of History or the Canal National Heritage Area Interpretive Center. Take a drive past the Amanda American Dickson House, home to what used to be one of the wealthiest African –American women in the late 19th century. You can also swing by the Lacy Craft Laney Museum of Black History.
