Helen, Georgia is a beautiful city located in White County, in the northern part of Georgia. This is a cute little city tucked away in the Blue Ridge Mountains along the Chattahoochee River - about 90 miles north of Atlanta.
 
Helen used to be an old logging town, but was the revitalized into a replica of a Bavarian Alpine town - instead of being located in the Alps, we have this amazing place tucked away in the Appalachians. The city even holds its own huge Helen Oktoberfest full of Bavarian beer, polka music all day and all night, dancing, and schnitzel! This is held annually from mid-September to early November and brings thousands to this tiny little town!
 
For those looking to enjoy the breathtaking scenery here in Helen, come spend a beautiful weekend taking in the sights of the great outdoors. After taking a long hike you will be rewarded by the beauty of Anna Ruby Falls, a rare double falls tucked away in the mountains. You can also spend a day canoeing, kayaking, or tubing out on the Chattahoochee River. Helen Waterpark is also right next to the river, providing a day of fun for children of all ages! If you choose to do something a little slower-paced, take a horseback ride through the trails of the mountains or spend some time fishing along the river.
 
If you want to have some fun out in the city, take the family out to the Alpine Extreme Speed for some excitement out on the go cart track. Also, go explore the Alpine Auto and Buggy Museum or the Remember When Theatre. Looking for a bit to eat while out in the city? Try out the delicious Stafari Steakhouse, Nacoochee Grill, which offers amazing selections like BBQ duck quesadillas and fresh Nacoochee crab cakes, or Hofer's Bakery and Café.
