Bowling Green Vacation Rentals and Lodging
The home of Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, Kentucky, offers visitors all the charm and delight of a small town plus a few unique attractions. Founded in 1775, Bowling Green, Kentucky boasts a thriving historic district where visitors can tour Fountain Square Park, Riverview at Hobson Grove, the Bowling Green Historic Railpark and cemeteries dating back to the Civil War. For those looking for a little adventure, the Lost River Cave and Valley boat tour is Kentucky’s only underground boat tour. Legend has it that Jesse James once visited this river, which Ripley’s Believe it or Not has called the shortest, deepest river in the world. In addition to the boat tour, visitors can also pan for gold, experience the butterfly habitat and see the site of a famous underground night club dating back to the 1930s. Sports fans can spend an afternoon watching the Hot Rods at the newly built ballpark in downtown Bowling Green. The Hot Rods are the Class A affiliate for the Tampa Bay Rays and began play in April 2009. Bowling Green is also the home of the National Corvette Museum, located adjacent to the GM Corvette plant. Tours are available of both the museum and the Corvette Assembly Plant. Cultural enthusiasts will feel right at home at the Phoenix Theatre, home of the Public Theater of Kentucky. In addition to live theater, the Phoenix showcases local artists in a rotating gallery and features local bands through its after hours series. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
