Minneapolis Rentals By Owner

Minneapolis, Minnesota is a beautiful city located right on the banks of the Mississippi River. It is the largest city in the state of Minnesota with over 20 amazing lakes and wetlands. This city is great to visit for whatever type of activity you are looking for; from the arts, sports, and parks, to fabulous nightlife, you will be sure to find it here.

Starting with those who have a love for the outdoors, begin your stay in Minneapolis at Fort Snelling Park. This park has breathtaking scenery, especially in the fall when all the leaves begin to change to beautiful hues of reds and oranges -- it makes you feel like you are walking through a piece of art. Take a hike up to Fort Snelling and get a glimpse of military life in the 1820s, or spend some time canoeing or fishing along the river. Another great park to visit is Minnehaha Park. This park was just newly restored and has a perfect 53 foot waterfall and amazing limestone bluffs. During the summer, you can enjoy a concert here while overlooking the Mississippi River. Minnehaha Park also offers golfing, hiking trails, and you may even stumble across a romantic outdoor wedding!

For those interested in the arts and museums, there is plenty here to do as well. For the art enthusiast, visit the Minneapolis Institute of Arts or the Katherine E. Nash Gallery, a 4,900 square foot gallery which holds shows for local and nationally renowned artists. The Fredrick R. Weisman Art Museum is also neat, known for its unique stainless steel and brick building.

A few other activities to try out while you are in the city of Minneapolis are the Minneapolis Bridge Tour, which takes you to bridges such as the Nicollet Island Railroad Bridge, and the Merriam Street Bridge, which crosses the east channel of the Mississippi River. All of these bridges have very interesting histories surrounding them and are, of course, amazing to look at. After that, take a ride in a cool streetcar when you visit the Minnesota Streetcar Museum. One last thing that is a must while visiting Minneapolis is ice skating at The Depot Rink. This ice rink is a beautifully restored train shed that has glass walls from floor to ceiling, providing an amazing nighttime view of downtown Minneapolis.

Last but not least, if you are looking for fun nightlife try out Nye’s Bar and Polonaise Room, a one-of-a–kind bar that is a must to go to while in town. This bar serves Polish food, plays polka music, and is decorated in stunning 1960s décor. If you are in the mood for a casual yet crazy night on the town, Lyle’s Bar and Restaurant is the place to be for plenty of drink specials and a late night out! For those who prefer a more upscale atmosphere and a fine glass of wine, you must go to Bellanotte, which serves amazing Italian food --it is perfect for a large group or a romantic night out.

As you can see Minneapolis, Minnesota attractions are fabulous! So for your next vacation, this is perfect for everyone!
