Hattiesburg, Mississippi is the third largest city in Mississippi, located in Forrest County. Hattiesburg is a great city to visit with plenty of historic buildings, restaurants, golf, and The University of Southern Mississippi to keep you busy!
 
One of the most popular historic buildings to visit is The Saenger Theater, built in 1929. This theater originally featured silent films and, through the years, has changed over to hosting pageants, galas, concerts by the local orchestra and concert bands, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The theater was put onto the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and was renovated and restored in 2000. There are plenty of things to feast your eyes on at the Saenger Theater, including glamorous hanging chandeliers, beautiful tiles, and the original Robert Morton Organ.
 
Hattiesburg is the home to The University of Southern Mississippi – so you will definitely have to take a stroll through campus and see all the beautiful historic buildings, and the lovely All-American Rose Garden with over 750 amazing flowers and bushes. Maybe while you are in the city you will be lucky enough to catch one of the Golden Eagles athletic teams hit the field!
