Durham, NH, a town in Strafford County, is the home to The University of New Hampshire Wildcats. Situated beside Great Bay at the mouth of the Oyster River, it is home to many wonderful trails and parks. Get outside and walk along the Adams Point Trail which stretches along the Great Bay tidal basin, a 50-mile hidden tidal coastline where a sea cliff and forest await you. Depending on the time of year, come visit the Whittemore Center Arena where you can watch the best in the sport play in a competitive ice hockey game or, if you’re here in the summer, you can listen to a concert from pop stars such as Jewel, Match Box 20, Tim McGraw, and many more who have come to play in the past. For the more artsy folks, come see a Broadway play such as Cats or Jesus Christ Superstar. After a long day you’ll need to fill up some fantastic food, so head on over to one of Durham’s downtown restaurants such as Acorns. On a Sunday afternoon you can enjoy a refreshing meal, some wine tasting, and listen to some smooth jazz playing in the background. Or you can try Ice House Too, or any other mouth watering seafood eateries. Want to spend a night out on the town and listen to live music? Come down to The Knot, where they have live bands 2-3 times a week, and enjoy one of their many drink specials they have daily. Durham, North Carolina has it all -- so stop on by and stay awhile, but don’t be surprised if you don’t want to leave. Durham Area Map for Your Vacation Planning |
