Love locally grown produce and hand-crafted arts and jewelry? Then head on over to Las Cruces Farmers & Crafts Market where everything is fresh and homemade.
 
While in town, you must be a part of the Whole Enchilada Fiesta, a popular festival held annually which is centered around making the world's largest enchilada - it gets as big as 10-1/2 feet in diameter! Once the enchilada is made, it’s cut into many pieces for the fiesta attendees to eat.
 
Don’t miss the famous holiday, Day of the Dead. Most of the activity for the party is at the Plaza in Mesilla, and its considered the largest celebration in southern New Mexico.
 
Get outside and go hiking or mountain biking at the Organ Mountains which overlook Las Cruces. For you avid readers out there, you must visit the COAS Books, the largest used book store in the Southwest, with over half a million titles.
 
Travel a short distance to White Sands Missile Range, the largest military installation in the U.S. Go on a tour through the missile park and see the refurbished V-2 rocket. Go into space at the Space Murals Museum - it has scale models of the space shuttle and space station Freedom.
 
Take home some great tasting reminders of your trip from the Stahmann Farms, the world’s largest producer of pecans. Take a tour of the pecan processing plant and sample their tasty candy.
 
Once the sun goes down, Las Cruces really wakes up with its ongoing nightlife. Get dressed up and head over to Azul for happy hour and some fun, or try out El Patio and listen to some live jazz or rock. For some really authentic Mexican food, one of the best places to visit is Si Senor Restaurant. The stylish Mexican decor will have you thinking you're at a real modern-day hacienda with its wrought iron arches and fountain in the center of the restaurant.
