Roswell, New Mexico is the home of the Roswell UFO incident of 1947. Sixty years later, people still debate what really happened, a government weather balloon or a UFO, but you can decide for yourself at the UFO Roswell exhibit.
 
This exhibit holds information on crop circles, sightings, Area 51, ancient astronauts, and abductions. You can also have some fun at the Amazing Roswell UFO Festival which features guest speakers, authors, costume contests, parades, live entertainment, and more.
 
Also, be sure and visit the Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge which straddles the Pecos River. It is a wetland oasis that is home to a diverse abundance of wildlife species. It holds some of New Mexico’s most rare creatures like the least shrew, Noel’s amphipod, the least tern, and many more.
 
Roswell also has many popular museums to visit as well. Come to the Roswell Museum and Art Center, which has historical materials and fine art specific to the areas of cultural change in the Southwest. Or visit the Anderson Museum of contemporary art with its unique collections of prints, paintings, drawings, sculptures, and photographs.
 
Have fun outside at the Cahoon Park which has the largest swimming pool in Roswell, along with tennis courts, playgrounds, picnic areas, and more. Grab something to eat at Peter’s Piper Pizza, or get a beer at Farley’s Pub which features numerous tequilas and great food.
 
Since Roswell has their own airport for easy traveling, there’s no excuse for not visiting this fun and exciting UFO town.
