Jamestown Rentals By Owner

Jamestown’s claim to fame is the fact that it is home to the world’s largest buffalo statue! The " World’s Largest Buffalo " is a cement statue of an American Bison. Located in the Frontier Village of Jamestown, the "World’s Largest Buffalo" can be seen while driving down the interstate past Jamestown, so it gives the city its nickname " The Buffalo City ."

The city has taken its nickname and run with it, and the Frontier Village is also home to the National Buffalo Museum. The purpose of the National Buffalo Museum is to raise the knowledge and awareness of the North American Bison . The museum even has its own herd of bison on site.

As well as the buffalo, a lot of the city’s happenings center around Jamestown College, the local institution of higher learning. Jamestown College established the Jamestown Art Center, a gallery located in the city’s downtown area that provides exhibits, classes, and performances for residents and visitors to enjoy. The Jamestown Art Center focuses on local and regional artists and performers.

The James River runs through the city, and the presence of water surely does make Jamestown a fun destination in the summers. Many watersports, such as kayaking, swimming, and canoeing, are popular on the James River. Fishing is also a huge draw in Jamestown year-round. The most popular fish found in the James River are smallmouth bass , several species of catfish, and redbreast sunfish .

Many of the golf courses in the area also overlook the James River as well.

The "World’s Largest Buffalo" overlooks the city year round, and the activities of the James River make the trip to see him worthwhile at any time.
