Minot Rentals By Owner

Minot, North Dakota is nicknamed the " Magic City ," and it lives up to its nickname. Most cities are called such because of great growth over a short amount of time, and Minot is the fourth largest city in the state.

Built up pretty much overnight around a railroad, Minot is now a hub of cultural activity. Its art scene is referred to as "sizable and flamboyant." The arts community consists of an art museum, the AMP—youth center and music venue—the Minot Symphony Orchestra , and many dance and theatre companies. The Minot Park District has close to 20 different venues throughout the city that all showcase different attractions.

One of the main draws of the park scene is the stave church that is located in the Scandinavian Heritage Park. A stave church is a medieval wooden church whose design originated in all of the Scandinavian countries. All of the buildings in the Scandinavian Heritage Park are built in the style of Scandinavian architecture. Other parks include ice rinks, tennis courts, sports fields, and a golf course.

The largest park is home to the Roosevelt Park Zoo. The North American Bison is a very historic and respected animal of the region, and it was the zoo’s first in 1920. Since then the Roosevelt Park Zoo, which is open from June to September, has become home to a bear den, otters, penguins, giraffes, flamingos, and so much more.

The Pioneer Village , modeled after old Minot, is located on the fairgrounds of the city, and once a year the state fair visits the city. The Great Tomato Festival also visits the fairgrounds yearly. The Great Tomato Festival is a yearly dinner—with the menu centered on tomatoes—and benefit that helps to keep the arts community, which keep Minot thriving, alive in the area.
