As one of the tallest buildings on the skyline of Akron, Ohio, the Goodyear Polymer Center helps solidify the city’s nickname: "The Rubber City." The Goodyear Polymer Center is located on the campus of the University of Akron, and helps add to the city’s appeal and constant growth.
 
Goodyear Heights and Firestone Park, two neighborhoods that serve as tourist attractions, are also centered on the tire industry that thrives in the city. Both neighborhoods are historically significant to the city and should definitely be visited for their beauty and uniqueness.
 
Another interesting and visually appealing building on the skyline of Akron is the Akron Art Museum. The Akron Art Museum building, which is art in and of itself, houses the many pop art, postmodern painting, and photorealism exhibits. Aside from visual art, Akron is also home to cultural attractions such as the Akron Symphony and the Ballet Theatre of Ohio.
 
Annually the city holds the music festival, Lock 3 Live. Held in one of the city’s popular park, Lock 3, Lock 3 Live showcases just about every musical genre out there. This popular venue, Lock 3 Park, holds tons of other events, like the opening ceremony for the annual Soapbox Derby and a firefighter competition. Lock 3 Park also becomes an outdoor ice skating rink from November to February.
 
Other museums in the area include the National Inventors Hall of Fame, the Archives for the History of American Psychology, and the Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens. The Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens is considered the main tourist attraction of the city of Akron. As the former home and mansion of the founder of Goodyear, the gardens both highlight the city’s beauty and history.
