As the home to both the Cedar Fair Entertainment Company and Cedar Point , the city houses the largest number of roller coasters in one place. Of the 17 roller coasters at the park, the most thrilling is the Top Thrill Dragster, which is both the world’s second tallest and fastest roller coaster .
 
Along with the highest number of roller coasters, Cedar Point has the greatest number of rides in general at one amusement park. The park is filled with 75 different rides featuring other thrill rides, children’s rides, and water rides. Cedar Point also has a beach and water park adjacent to the amusement park.
 
As a peninsula that juts out into Lake Erie , lots of sports and recreation are popular past-times in Sandusky. There are both indoor and outdoor water parks in the area. Indoor water parks include the Great Wolf Lodge and Kalahari Resorts, while the outdoor water parks are Soak City and Monsoon Lagoon. There are great parks throughout the city for lounging in the summer sun and playing sports.
 
South of the city is the Sandusky Speedway , a racetrack that hosts weekly stock car competitions. For indoor activities visit the city’s mall, the Sandusky Mall , for the best shopping in the area.
