There are around 80 parks located throughout the area, one of which is Spray Park at the George M. Lee Park . Take the family and let the kids have fun splashing in the wading pool and jumping around in the spray area. Pack yourself a picnic and have a much-needed relaxing day! There are also a variety of fantastic playgrounds located throughout the city where you can let the kids run wild!
 
If you are in the mood for a true adventure, take a drive over to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge . This refuge gives you the amazing opportunity to see free roaming bison , longhorn, deer, elk and many other rare mammals! It’s not every day you can get an up close and personal view of some of these animals in their natural habitat. Take your car up to the top of Mt. Scott and enjoy the breathtaking view of the Wichita Mountains. This is a sight you definitely don’t get to see on a regular basis. While enjoying the beauty of the mountains, take some time to do some fishing, hiking, or, for the daring, rock climbing!
 
Lawton is also the home to the Comanche Nation . Learn all about this incredible tribe by visiting the Comanche National Museum Park and Cultural Center. This museum and cultural center has preserved the language and history of the Comanche Nation, and continues to teach the public about their culture.
