Located in the Green Mountains, Killington, Vermont is known for its great skiing and ski resorts. Almost 200 skiing trails and 30 lifts are located on the mountains of Killington. The levels range from gentle to expert.
 
Pico Mountain is a big skiing mountain, and it is also home to the Pico Adventure Center. An entire day could be spent at the Pico Adventure Center on the climbing wall, mini golf course, and on a great local attraction, the alpine slides. The alpine slides are a great way to enjoy the mountain scenery. To ride an alpine slide, you take a lift to the top of Little Pico Mountain, and then ride down a track on your alpine slide. They are great for kids and to feel like a kid again!
 
For hikers, both the Long Trail and the Appalachian Trail run through Killington, and both can provide either a short day’s hike or a whole lot more. Considered one of the most scenic stops on the Appalachian Trail, Thundering Falls is located in Killington. Thundering Falls is grand waterfall that thousands visit yearly while hiking. The falls have even recently added a wheelchair accessible trail.
 
For golfers, the Green Mountain National Golf Course in the area was voted the number one public golf course in the state of Vermont.
 
At the beginning of October every year Killington holds the Killington Brewfest . At the base of Killington Peak during the Killington Brewfest, visitors will find over 60 of the Northeast’s finest beers, live music, plenty of food, and the awesome fall scenery of the mountains.
 
The Green Mountains of Killington always provide great scenery and recreation and are great for a vacation any time of the year.
