Spokane Rentals By Owner

The first piece of tourist advice needed before visiting Spokane is that it is pronounced Spo-CAN, not the common Spo-CANE. That’s the hardest part of the city; the rest is easy-going and historic.

Located on the Spokane River in the beautiful state of Washington, Spokane pulls off being a bigger city with small town appeal. Many of the suburbs of Spokane are on the National Register of Historic Districts and are worth visiting to enjoy the Victorian Architecture and artistic qualities of the buildings.

The heart of the city, its downtown area, is the home to many great tourist spots. The Fox Theatre is great to visit and to see the Spokane Symphony perform. The city is also home to the Spokane Jazz Orchestra that plays throughout the year. The River Park Square Mall is a popular shopping spot in downtown Spokane , which is the home to many popular stores and a movie theatre. The historic Davenport Hotel is worth visiting to enjoy its ornate architecture. Many traveling shows, like popular concerts and Broadway shows frequent the Spokane Convention Center.

On the outskirts of downtown Spokane is the perfect reason for wine-lovers to visit the city, the Latah Creek Winery . Among many other wineries, the Latah Creek Winery specializes in Washington-made wine, specifically merlot, and is a great experience for travelers.

Just as the Washington climate is perfect for wine-making, it is also perfect for tons of outdoor recreation. The nearby Cascade Mountains offer tons of hiking and biking trails, along with mountain climbing, and the Spokane River is known for its white-water rafting courses. While visiting Spokane, Washington, make sure to take advantage of the wonderful Washington climate and terrain.
