Once voted one of the best communities for young people in the nation, Eau Claire is a vibrant vacation spot for younger generations. Being the home to one of the branches of the University of Wisconsin certainly helps Eau Claire’s nightlife! Some of the most popular pubs in the city include Clancy’s, Court-n-House Bar and Grill—which, hence the name, is right around corner from the city’s historic courthouse—and Mogie’s Pub.
 
To get outdoors and move around, enjoy the city’s Chippewa River State Trail, a biking and hiking trail that runs along the Chippewa River. The large parks in the area that take full advantage of the city’s waterfront location include Owen Park, Phoenix Park, and Riverview Park. Owen Park is popular for outdoor concert venue that hosts concerts throughout the summer. Phoenix Park is the home of the weekly farmer’s market in Eau Claire, and Riverview Park is a more typical park in the sense that it holds the city’s boat landing, is the site of tons of summer swimming, and has picnic areas.
 
Another popular park, Carson Park, is the home of the annual Festival in the Pines. A popular attraction of Eau Claire, Festival in the Pines is a two day event in August that brings tons of vendors from all over the state to sell their goods and food. With live entertainment and games and contests for children and adults alike, Eau Claire’s Festival in the Pines is a great family getaway.
