Gillette Rentals By Owner

Located in the prairies of Wyoming , Gillette is a thoroughly American city based upon nature and coal mining, and, thus, one of the city’s nicknames is "the energy capital of the world." In the months of June through August, one of the best tourist attractions is taking a tour of a local coal mine. One of the most popular mine’s to tour is the Eagle Butte Mine , and touring the mine helps gain an understanding of how over 3 million families a year gain electricity.

Also taking place in the summer is the annual Wyoming Celtic Festival and Highland Games . At the end of June, the city features Celtic bands, bagpipers, and living historical groups.

The local history of the coal mines and more is showcased in the Campbell County Rockpile Museum. The Rockpile Museum preserves the history of the area through exhibits of fossils, Native American artifacts, and quilts. A popular attraction—that deals with one of the biggest aspects of Gillette’s history, coal mining—is a video that shows how coal is excavated, blasted, and transported. The museum’s dress-up room also makes it a very kid-friendly museum . Kids also love visiting both the local Planetarium and the Science Center Adventurarium.

With beautiful scenery, as it is located in the Powder River Basin between the Big Horn Mountains and Black Hills, Gillette, Wyoming is a laid-back town that is a great stopover on the way to Yellowstone National Park or Mount Rushmore .
