Rock Springs is known throughout the state as the home of Wyoming’s Big Show ! Held from the end of July through to the beginning of August, Wyoming’s Big Show features parades, tons of food, arts and crafts, and music. The festival’s after-dark concert series is usually headlined by well known acts in country music, rock, and much more. Other live shows change yearly but include performances such as kid-friendly acts like clowns and petting zoos, comedians, and other animal exhibits.
 
The most popular yearly event is the rodeo. The featured rodeo is always headlined by professional bull riders and is very fast-paced and exciting. Wyoming’s Big Show is held at the Sweetwater County Events Complex . The Sweetwater County Events Complex is also home to a yearly carnival, BMX and other races, and horse shows.
 
Like other parts of Wyoming, the industry in Rock Springs is dependent upon coal, and this aspect of the city is showcased in the Rock Springs coal sign . The sign has sat at the city’s major intersection for over 50 years and has definitely become a part of its history. The sign was re-erected in Depot Park, which has set up a miner’s memorial that pays tribute to the city’s coal mining past. Depot Park is definitely worth visiting to learn something about Rock Springs. The Rock Springs Museum worked hard to get the sign put back in its original location, and the museum sits about a block about from the Rock Springs coal sign. The museum also helps to preserve the aspects of Rock Springs, Wyoming that make it a great vacation rental destination.
