The glistening Big Horn Lake in Big Horn National Park is popular for swimming, boating, and especially fishing. Brown and rainbow trout are found in abundance in the lake. For other fishing opportunities in Sheridan, visit Sibley Lake and Lake DeSmet to catch all kinds of trout, bass, and pike.
 
During the winter, the area becomes flanked in snow and becomes even more breath-taking. The area then becomes popular for cross country skiing, snow shoeing, and snow mobiling.
 
Downtown Sheridan is home to many cultural and western attractions throughout the year. The second weekend in June, Sheridan always hosts its Celebrate the Arts Festival . The festival highlights local artists, cowboy poets, saddlemakers, and silversmiths. Sculpture is very popular in the area, and throughout the downtown area sculptures can be enjoyed.
