Or downtown Brasilia – when seen from above this UNESCO World Heritage Site resembles a bird with outstretched wings. This large town is full of unique, modern architecture designed by Oscar Niemeyer – he designed the stunning Palácio da Alvorada and the Palácio do Planalto, where the President of Brazil lives and works. Niemeyer also designed the Cathedral of Brasilia – this amazing structure features a glass roof that seems to stretch skyward towards Heaven.
 
Rio De Janeiro is home to the world’s longest Carnival celebration and the New Year’s Eve Revillon party at the Copacabana which typically brings in over 2 million revelers. Nearby Pao de Acucar (Sugarloaf Mountain) is a popular landmark and taking a cable car to the top provides for a great view of the scenic mountain area and downtown Rio de Janeiro.
