Vermont Rentals By Owner

Never even thought of Vermont as a premier vacation rental site? Well, now is the time to change your mind! The Green Mountain State is full of fun activities and interesting sights to see, all year round!

This tiny little northern state is the country’s leader in Maple Syrup production and springtime is the time to visit for the freshest sampling of the sugary concoction. Autumn is the time to visit to view the spectacular fall foliage, especially on those hard-working Sugar Maple trees. In the summer, Vermont is famous for its many summer camps and horse shows. There are lots of freshwater lakes for trout fishing and lake swimming. And you can still even go skiing in the summer during your Vermont vacation rental!

But, of course, what Vermont is known best for is its winters, its snow, and its skiing! Killington is a world-renowned ski resort that, despite going through some name changes throughout the years, is a good standby for some exciting Vermont skiing. Stowe is one of Vermont’s premier year round ski resorts and offers up many beginner and challenging and scenic trails. Stowe is also home to the Trapp family lodge, the concert site for the Vermont Mozart Festival, and Mount Mansfield, Vermont’s tallest mountain. When you’re done skiing, you can relax in style at one of this Vermont town’s world-class spas or restaurants. For those who are really wanting a downhill challenge, be sure and check out the Ripcord run in Mount Snow Valley – not for the faint of heart, Ripcord is rated as a double black diamond run.

When you’re done with all the skiing excitement, come down off the slopes and check out some of Vermont’s other interesting sites. The Vermont town of Burlington is home to the first Ben and Jerry’s ice cream store, opened in 1978, and the first publicly owned library, originally endowed by Andrew Carnegie and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Colchester, Vermont is very proud of their vintage 1815 log schoolhouse -- a restoration by the Colchester Historical Society. And Manchester, Vermont is home to Hildene, the home to Robert Todd Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln’s oldest son.

Whether you’re having a pint of Otter Creek Brewing Company’s finest in Middlebury, Vermont, visiting Robert Frost’s grave in Bennington, or enjoying local artists on the Gallery Walk in Brattleboro, you’ll love every minute of your Vermont vacation rental.
