Clearwater Vacation Rentals and Lodging

Clearwater, Florida is a popular beach vacation rental destination. All the activity in the city centers around the white sand and blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The city is a popular by owner vacation rental spot for families and those celebrating Spring Break. The Florida beach town is popular for sunbathing, parasailing, jet ski rentals, boating, and fishing excursions. Popular local hang outs include the picturesque Island Way Grill, the dive-y Frenchy's Cafe, and the popular spot for stone crab claws, Frenchy's Stone Crab.

Day and nighttime cruises are popular in the area. For the kids, take the Pirate Cruise, a playful daytime cruise through the Intercoastal Waterway, or, for some romance, try a dinner cruise around the harbor. Clearwater's biggest - and most controversial - claim to fame is as the home to the headquarters of the Church of Scientology. Known as the Flag Land Base, the headquarters and the church have done a lot for the architecture in the city.

There are many festivals throughout the year that bring life to the city as well. The Fun N Sun Festival happens in April and May. There is always an annual celebration in the city on the 4th of July, and October is a busy month in Clearwater with both the Clearwater Jazz Holiday and the Hispanic Heritage Festival. The biggest celebration, though, is the annual Imagine International Film Festival. Held in April and sponsored by the International Arts and Film Foundation in Florida, the festival helps to bring arts awareness to Clearwater and other parts of Florida.
