With many surrounding cities, Lake Chelan, Washington is a great vacation rental destination. The lake, surrounded by the pine trees that make the scenery of the state of Washington so breathtaking, is great to visit while in the cities of Chelan and Stehekin.
 
Chelan is the larger surrounding city and boasts many tourism opportunities like visiting a winery, golfing, hiking trails, and enjoying the scenery around the lake and mountains. One of the best times to visit Chelan is during the annual Lake Chelan Wine Festival . The Lake Chelan Wine Festival is an afternoon filled with local wine, music, art, and food.
 
For a smaller and more laid-back vacation spot go to nearby Stehekin. With a population of about 100, Stehekin, Washington is good for some peace and quiet when not enjoying nearby and popular Lake Chelan.
 
The Lake Chelan State Park is located amidst the Cascade Mountains on the edge of the lake. Used primarily as a campground amidst the forests, the Lake Chelan State Park is a popular spot for boating, fishing, and swimming—it’s basically the best place to enjoy the calming waters of Lake Chelan. As the third deepest lake in the country, Lake Chelan automatically lends itself to many recreational activities.
 
The Lake Chelan National Recreation Area is only accessible by float plane or passenger ferry from Chelan and Stehekin, or, during the milder months, a hike through the Cascade Mountains. The Golden West Visitor Center is the place to visit once you reach the Lake Chelan National Recreation Area for information on all trails, activities, and to obtain any permits needed for fishing and hunting. The best part sporting around Lake Chelan is the wonderful scenery that keeps visitors entertained and keeps them returning again and again.
