Exumas Area Map For Your Vacation PlanningExumas Rentals By Owner
The Exuma island chain includes over 360 small islands—but you can’t visit some of them, because they are the private playground of royalty and movie stars. Enjoy a vacation rental in the Exumas to experience the incredible natural beauty that draws them here. These islands have some of the world’s most attractive and unspoiled beaches, looking out onto pristine blue water. Diving is a popular activity here, with many blue holes and underwater caves to explore. In the ocean, you can swim with pods of visiting dolphins that frequent the waters off Great Exuma. You can enjoy bonefishing from the beach, sailing, or touring the many little cays in the Exumas. You might visit Staniel Cay, where you can swim in Thunderball Cave, featured in the James Bond movie Thunderball as well as the movie Splash! Or explore the steep limestone bluffs of Stocking Island. The only large town is Georgetown, on Great Exuma. Here you can charter your sailing, diving, or fishing adventure, or grab a bite at the charming local restaurants, serving fresh seafood and other island recipes. You can browse for arts and gifts in the shops of Georgetown, or stroll around Lake Victoria. Great Exuma is also home to the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park, a 176 square mile marine wildlife reserve, where you can see rare creatures on both water and land. In April, you can see one of the Bahamas’ major sailing regattas. Or stop by in the summer for the Exuma Junkanoo Summer Festival, celebrating the food, culture, music, and history of these islands. The Exumas are sparsely populated, and you will find many cays completely uninhabited. Whether you want a boating adventure among the islands, or just peace and quiet by the ocean, an island vacation rental in the Exumas will be a wonderful island vacation rental experience that you will never want to forget. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
