Dominican Republic Rentals By Owner
The Dominican Republic, which takes up about two-thirds of the scenic Hispaniola Island, is only about the size of Vermont or New Hampshire. But they say good things come in small packages, and that’s certainly true with a Dominican Republic vacation rental!
This little country packs in 9 different national parks, raging rivers, island waterfalls, famous beaches, and inland lakes. Add to that four separate scenic mountain ranges and you’ve got just about every setting you could hope for in your Dominican Republic vacation rental. With all of these natural features located right in the heart of the Dominican Republic, it’s no wonder that it’s a great destination for rafting, helicopter tours, windsurfing, and catamaran cruises.
Most of the popular tourist destinations are located in the Distrito Nãcional (The National District). Walking these same streets that Christopher Columbus walked, you’ll find many examples of 15th century architecture. Highlights of the National District are the Ozama Fort, the Cathedral, Ponce de Leon’s House, and Pat E. Palo, a Dominican restaurant that’s been in continuous operation since 1505!
Manti Park is a great place to stop in and see much of the Dominican Republic’s natural plant and animal life. The large park is home to gorgeous flowers, exotic fish, wild horses, and parrots. Nearby you can also swim with dolphins.
Not everything the Dominican Republic is famous for is a natural formation – the tiny island nation is home to many famous baseball players including the 1998 National League MVP award-winning Sammy Sosa, the three-time Cy Young Award-winning Pedro Martinez, and the 2001 Major League Rookie of the Year, Albert Pujols. Although these Dominican wonders can’t exactly be visited during your next Dominican Republic vacation rental, you’ll see evidence of how proud the fantastic island nation is of these national treasures as well.
With 18 different cascading waterfalls on the scenic island nation, the Dominican Republic is a haven for rafting and watersports enthusiasts but you don’t have to necessarily be brave of heart to enjoy your Dominican Republic vacation rental. Just be willing to relax, kick back, and enjoy the sunshine.
