Puerto Rico Rentals By Owner

Puerto Rico may be a United States territory, but after you take your next island vacation there, you will be fully confident that this island has a flavor all its own. From the warm, ocean waters of the Atlantic to the lush nature reserves that house some amazing Puerto Rico natives, Puerto Rico is an ideal destination for a tropical Caribbean vacation rental.

Start your Puerto Rico vacation in the town of Rincon, made famous by the Beach Boys’ song "Surfin’ Safari". This surfing paradise is wildly popular among surfing enthusiasts and was once the site of the World Surfing Championships! If you haven’t learned to surf yet, there will be plenty of people around to show you the ropes – practically everyone in Rincon practices this hobby. And for those who prefer to keep their feet on dry land, whale watching is another activity that Rincon has to offer – especially from December to March.

For a little old world Puerto Rican flavor, visit Old San Juan. Old San Juan is located on a smaller island that is accessible from the mainland by two different bridges. The charming Spanish cobblestone streets in the town date all the way back to the 16th century and the historic walls surrounding the city were once part of the defensive forts located around the city. Many of these forts are now part of the San Juan National Historic Site and La Fortaleza even serves as the Governor’s mansion!

Puerto Rico has plenty of natural beauty to see on your Puerto Rico vacation rental. Its home to the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System, El Yunque National Forest. This forest is home to the most famous peak on the island, El Yunque. Culebra is home to several secluded beaches and is a popular destination for scuba divers due to the many reefs around the area.

And Puerto Rico is also home to several nature reserves. President Teddy Roosevelt established what is now one of the oldest bird sanctuaries in United States territory. If you’re lucky, you might spot a Culebra Island Giant Anole (Anolis roosevelti), a virtually extinct lizard who is named after President Roosevelt. The sanctuaries are also home to many different species of turtles and sea birds who return to the reserve year after year.

After your Puerto Rico vacation rental, you’ll want to return year after year too!
