Berkshires--Becket Vacation Rentals and Lodging
The Berkshires are a collection of mountains and hills located close to both Massachusetts and Connecticut. The Berkshires are a popular scenic vacation getaway. Part of the Appalachian Trial runs through The Berkshires, along with many other trails that exist in the area, and makes the area very popular for those wanting to spend some time with nature. Other nature-centered attractions include Kent Falls, a park known for its waterfalls, and the biggest waterfall in Massachusetts, Bash Bish Falls. Located in the Taconic Mountains, Bash Bish Falls is at the mouth of a gorge formed during the last ice age. The Berkshire Botanical Garden can be found in the Berkshires. The Berkshire Botanical Garden contains over 3,000 plant species and varieties that are prevalent in The Berkshires. The display gardens here are among the oldest in the United States. If you’re interested in more indoor activities, The Berkshires provide lots of opportunity for that as well. One of the most interesting attractions is the Norman Rockwell Museum. As home to the world’s largest collection of Rockwell art, the Norman Rockwell Museum has almost 600 pieces of work and also over 100,000 archives including photographs and fan mail. Other art museums in the area are the Clark Art Institute and the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. The Berkshires are the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. They can be found playing at the Tanglewood Music Center in the summer months. With its mixture of indoor and outdoor activities, The Berkshires are a great summer vacation spot. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
