One of the most fun historic sites of the state of Wisconsin is located in Baraboo: Circus World. Circus World is both a museum and an interactive experience of everything having to do with the traveling show that is a staple of everyone’s childhood. Circus World has a Circus Museum that chronicles the history of a circus’ attractions. The Circus Museum strives to show how embedded the circus as become in American culture. Circus animals, an interactive kid’s circus area, and the world’s largest circus wagon collection are also main attractions of Circus World. Other kid-friendly tourist attractions include the International Crane Foundation and Devil’s Lake State Park. The International Crane Foundation is the only place in the world where you can see all 15 species of cranes in one place, even the rarest, like the Sarus, the tallest flying bird in the world. The foundation includes different natural habitats for the cranes, an art exhibit, and nature trails. Other nature trails can be found at Devil’s Lake State Park. The Ice Age Trail is a 1200 mile trail in Wisconsin. The Baraboo Hills chapter of Ice Age Trail is popular for skiing and snowshoeing. The Devil’s Lake State Park is known for hiking, biking, climbing, and hunting. Devil’s Lake, which is surrounded by prehistoric formations and other interesting geology, is one of the most scenic spots in Wisconsin. Hunting, for turkey and deer, is popular in the state park, as well as fishing for various types of trout and bass, are likely reasons to enjoy the natural beauty of Devil’s Lake State Park and Baraboo.
