Cape Cod Vacation Rentals and Lodging

Cape Cod is split into three defining sections: the Upper Cape, the Mid-Cape, and the Lower Cape. One thing that is constant throughout all three sections are the lighthouses. All in working order, they are the one main attraction and are regularly photographed thing on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Some of the more popular ones are Chatham Light, Highland Light, and Nauset Light. Highland Light is located on the Highland Golf Course, and while its grounds are open year round for viewing, the light, like most lighthouses on the island, is only opening for viewing from May until late October. Memorial through Labor Day is the most popular time on the Cape because of New England’s pleasant summer weather.

A big industry in Cape Cod is whale-watching tours. Most boats will guarantee a sighting. The whales in the area range from humpbacks, to fin whales, to minke whales. Island visitors can even try to sight these whales from the vast number of public beaches. Cape Cod is a popular beach destination for travelers. It has 60 public beaches, with 40 miles of sand and walking trails. Since it is a summer destination, Cape Cod has many outdoor activities. Golfing is one of the more popular outdoor sports, and on the Cape there are over 25 golf courses that are open to the public.

Provincetown, the tip of Cape Cod and one of its most popular destinations, is known for its love and tolerance of art. Many writers and artists call Provincetown home. The Provincetown International Film Festival is held every June, art classes are offered in the area, and there are always traveling artists coming through to enrich the area.

Whether it be a trip to Provincetown, or anywhere else, visiting Cape Cod in the summer will definitely be a relaxing, enjoyable experience.
