Lake Kezar was named for George Ebenezer Kezar, the first European settler who came to Lovell in the mid-1700s. Kezar's name also inspired another namesake in town - Ebenezer's Pub and Restaurant. This local landmark has been named the "Best Beer Bar in America" five times by Beer Advocate magazine. The nearby White Mountains offer challenging hiking and exploring for an adventurous Maine vacation. Five nearby ski resorts are popular spots in the winter, providing a variety of downhill ski terrain - Shawnee Peak, Sunday River, Cranmore Mountain, Black Mountain and Attitash.
