Aruba Vacation Rentals and Lodging
Most people have at least heard of Aruba, thanks to the Beach Boys song "Kokomo", but if you haven’t actually visited this glittering island in the south Caribbean, then now is definitely the time! Once you’re surrounded by the swaying palm trees and you’ve got your toes buried in the warm, white sand, you’ll feel like the stresses of your life are worlds away! To get a scenic view of the gorgeous island, head on over to the Haystack. Formally known as Hooiberg, this mountain has over 1,000 steps to reach its summit, so be sure and bring your comfortable walking shoes! But once you make your way up those many, many steps, you’ll find yourself with a breathtaking view that is simply one-of-a-kind. If 1,000 steps sound a little too strenuous for you on vacation, you can always visit the many caves on Aruba. The Guadirikiri Cave has two dome chambers that let in beautiful sunlit rays and is also known as home to a large number of nocturnal bats. And the Fontein cave is worth a visit for anyone interested in seeing native Arawak wall drawings. For some of what the Caribbean is famous for, head towards the coast for some fantastic snorkeling and scuba diving! The Boca Catalina and the Antilla Shipwreck are two popular diving sites just off of the coast of Aruba. The two shipwrecks are beautiful sights to see and the locals can fill your ears with legends centering on the wrecks. For animal lovers, the Arikok National Park (which takes up almost 20% of the Caribbean island) is home to many unusual species of flora and fauna. In fact, there are two species of birds and snakes that are indigenous to Aruba – the Cascabel and Santanero snakes, the Arbuan burrowing owl, and the Aruban parakeet. So whether you want to visit Aruba during Carnival for a truly colorful island experience, or you just want to spend your days laying on the beach and getting tan, an Aruba vacation rental is an ideal vacation rental destination! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
