Squam Lake Rentals By Owner
Squam Lake, NH is located at the beginning of the White Mountains and near Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire. Squam Lake is located 40 miles north of New Hampshire’s capital of Concord. Squam Lake is a natural, spring-fed body of water consisting of a small and large lake connected by a channel. Squam Lake, New Hampshire has 65 miles of shoreline with 13 islands, 20 coves, and 3 bays -- with this much variety there’s no possible way you won’t have fun here! Squam Lake is less than an hour away from many of New Hampshire’s family attractions. Visit Squam Lakes Natural Science Center where you can walk through the open meadows or on their marsh boardwalks to see where some of the native animals live – animals like mountain lions, bobcats, black bear, raptors and much more. The trails are open daily from May to November. The Squam Lakes Natural Science Center also has a black bear exhibit that houses two separate bears that live in the park. You can view their home from a nearby treehouse with no fences or wires between you and the bears. You’ll feel like you’re right there in the woods with them! Another exhibit, the Life Underground has a people-size chipmunk burrow. Also, be sure to take the Science Center Lake Cruise. This is a 90 minute tour on a canopied pontoon. There is also a full service marine for tourist to rent family-friendly runabouts, ski boats, and fishing boats. Getting hungry? Then eat at the Corner House Inn. Enjoy your meal in one of their four different elegant dining rooms. You can dine by candle light or next to a crackling fire, and then go upstairs to the pub for a drink. Also, try Coe House Restaurant in the quaint village of Center Harbor. It features superb new American cuisine and the seating is very relaxing among their plush sofas and leather chairs. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
