Sedona Vacation Rentals and Lodging
The breathtaking backdrop of Sedona, Arizona is made up of the massive presence of the Red Rocks. The Red Rocks of Sedona are a collection of red sandstone formations that can be seen from the many hiking and biking trails that are hugely popular in the city. The Red Rocks seem to glow around sun up and sun down, so these are very popular times of the day to hit the trails. Sedona also has a mild mountain climate, so the brisk air during these times of the day make outdoor activities even more enjoyable. Two of the popular rock formations to visit are two that are said to closely resemble Snoopy and Lucy from the Peanuts comic. Other popular formations — named for what they look like — are the Rabbit Ears, the Mittens, Coffeepot Rock, and Cathedral Rock. There are tons of annual festivals in the area that take advantage of Sedona’s mild climate and impressive landscape. In February, there is the Sedona International Film Festival. The Sedona International Film Festival shows independent films, documentaries, shorts, and foreign films. The festival is well-respected, and some of the films presented have even gone on to gain attention from the Academy Awards. In March, there is Sedona Jazz on the Rocks. Held in the beautiful Red Rocks, Sedona Jazz on the Rocks hopes that its performances help to preserve the history and enjoyment of jazz music. In June, Sedona holds the annual Gumption Fest. Gumption Fest is a local street art festival that also highlights local music. The festival provides exposure for the grassroots movement and artists and a good time for locals and visitors. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
