Luxembourg Rentals By Owner

If someone asks you to name one thing about Luxembourg, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? That it’s a tiny, little country, right? Well, Luxembourg is also a premier vacation rental destination! For a country that is less than 1,000 square miles in size, Luxembourg is big on vacation rental opportunities and has plenty of things to see and do!

One top Luxembourg attraction is the Casemates Bock. The Casemates Bock is a series of underground fortifications that has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. They were built back in the 18th century and tunnel under the city of Kirchberg. These ancient, historical tunnels lying underneath such a modern European city are certainly a sight to see!

Diekirch is worth a visit as well. This small town is home to the National Museum of Military History and a famous brewery. The National Museum of Military History is mainly dedicated to World War II’s Battle of the Bulge, which took place in Luxembourg. The museum has many life-size dioramas and a replica of the night-time Sauer River crossing of January 18, 1945. For history buffs, this is a can’t miss attraction!

The northern portion of Luxembourg is known as the "Oesling" and is a mainly mountainous region. For those who truly enjoy the chance to "get away" and not be surrounded by crowds of tourists, this is the place to go. In fact, Wiltz is the only town in the Oesling that has a population of over 4,000 people. You’ll truly be able to relax and enjoy the gorgeous scenery without hundreds of other people jostling you and getting in the way!

The southern portion of Luxembourg, the "Gutland", is also worth a visit, despite its slightly higher population. The terrain is much more diverse than its northern counterpart and you can visit sandstone formations, lush forests, and craggy hills while you’re in the Gutland. Plus, pretty much all of Luxembourg’s industrial cities are located in the Gutland.

So don’t discount Luxembourg because of its small size – the tiny country is fast proving itself as a fantastic vacation rental destination. And, as they say, good things come in small packages!
