Located in the middle of the state, Conway, Arkansas is known best as  The City of Colleges.  It is the home of the University of Central Arkansas, Central Baptist College, and Hendrix College. A city with so many schools is always enriched by them, and Conway was not left out of that. Along with the Conway Symphony Orchestra and the Conway Community Arts Association, these schools help keep the city rich on a cultural level.
 
Adding to this also is the city’s annual, 3-day festival Toad Suck Daze that is held on the first weekend in May. While the festival has the normal cultural attractions—music, crafts, food—its unique claim to fame is the toad race held during Toad Suck Daze. Citizens and visitors alike use home or community bred toads and race them on an actual course. The great part about the festival is that, in this college-based town, Toad Suck Daze helps to raise scholarship money for Conway citizens.
 
Toads aren’t the only animals getting attention in this city though. Lake Conway is one of the main attractions of this town to fisherman all over. Lake Conway is the home to largemouth bass, catfish, bream, and many other popular sporting fish. Most recently, Conway has gained notoriety as the hometown of Kris Allen, American Idol, Season 8 winner.
