Fayetteville, Arkansas is a football town by default, as it is the home of the main campus of the University of Arkansas and their razorbacks. The University of Arkansas is located in the city’s center and surrounded by Dickson Street, a popular street in the city lined with many shops and restaurants. Dickson Street is also home to the Walton Arts Center, a venue used for many cultural events and performances, such as traveling Broadway shows and ballets.
 
Another popular place is the Downtown Fayetteville Square. Every year, for the past 35 years, April through November, a farmer’s market is held in the town square on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Local farmers show up, rain or shine, with fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs, and flowers. The rule is that everything being sold at the market must have been grown by the vendor selling it.
 
The two most famous past residents of Fayetteville are Hillary and Bill Clinton. Their house in the city, where they lived while teaching at the University of Arkansas School of Law, has been made into a museum that documents Bill Clinton’s early political career and the couple’s married life. It even showcases Hillary’s wedding dress, as the couple was actually married in this house.
 
The city has recently refurbished their public library, and made it the first LEED Silver Certified, U.S. Green Building Council, fully eco-friendly building in the city. The stunning piece of architecture, equipped with its own coffee shop and restaurant, is the host of many local events, such as book signings, film festivals, and small-scale concerts. As a traveler, it’s great to know that the library offers many public amenities like mini-laptop rentals and, of course, tons of  green  quiet space.
