Turkey Vacation Rentals and Lodging
Located right at the point where Asia and Europe meet, where East meets West, lies a vast country just perfect for your next vacation rental – Turkey! Turkey has everything you could possibly want in a vacation rental – mountains, valleys, rivers, highlands, and gorgeous white sand beaches. Visitors decide on Turkey vacations for many reasons – the stunning scenery, the historical attractions, and the exciting culture! Start your Turkey vacation in the Aegean Region of Turkey. There is so much to see and do in this western region of Turkey, including Ephesus, Pamukkale, and the famous Blue Lagoon of Olundeniz. There are more historical sites in this region than in any other region in Turkey! Ephesus is home to a large archaeological site and it continually one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country. And Pamukkale is home to the UNESCO World Heritage site of the petrified waterfalls. This stunning attraction was naturally formed by earthquakes and the movement of the tectonic plates. Whatever the cause, you won’t soon forget the unique sight of people bathing in hot springs while surrounded by what appears to be a frozen waterfall! (But it’s actually only petrified limestone and travertine.) While you’re still spending your Turkey vacation in the Aegean region, be sure and stop by the many gorgeous beach resorts or Antalya. This Mediterranean town has become a popular tourist spot due to its beautiful landscapes, warm weather, and unique mix of historical sites and natural wonders. There are several nearby waterfalls that provide a fantastic backdrop for souvenir photos. Antalya is even within an hour’s drive of the Saklikent Ski Resort – for those wanting a truly unique vacation rental experience, you can ski down a gorgeous snowy mountain and then swim in the warm Mediterranean Sea in the same afternoon! Next, take your Turkey vacation over to Istanbul. Istanbul is Turkey’s largest city and was once capital of both the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires. Because of its strong historical significance, Istanbul is home to numerous historical sites such as the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, the Basilica Cistem, and the Galata Tower. While you’re in Istanbul, be sure and pick something up at the Cevahir Mall – it’s the seventh largest shopping center in the world! Turkey has some pretty impressive natural wonders as well – the impressive Kackar Mountains in Eastern Turkey are alpine mountains dotted with numerous mountain lakes. And Mount Nemrut in Southeastern Turkey is a huge mountain that is well noted for having a 1st Century BC tomb located on its summit! The mountain summit tomb is flanked by numerous statues in the shapes of both animals and gods. The statues representing the various gods have been damaged and are scattered throughout the site – some believe that the damage was done deliberately. Whatever the cause, its still a sight to be seen! So take a Turkey vacation or Turkey holiday and you can find yourself sunning on the beaches of Iztuzu Beach or exploring the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World! A vacation in Turkey can be everything and anything that you want it to be! |
