Beaches : The 30 km of Sorrentine peninsula are a combination of creeks, caves, and volcanic sandy beaches full of chaise lounges. Among the most popular beaches of the region are the Marina di Puolo, Alimuri beach in Meta di Sorrento, Marina Grande, Praino, Marina del Cantone in the gulf of Salerno, and the famous beaches of Capri.
Entertainment : For those who want to spend their nights in a lively and warm atmosphere, the coast offers lots of bars, pubs, and nightclubs. Often during the summer, open-air parties are organized on beaches and in private parks, and are advertised in flyers distributed on the streets during the day.
Music: The Sorrentine Peninsula is well-known for its rich and diverse music. Traditional songs such as O’ Sole Mio, Santa Lucia, Tu Vo’ Fa Americano, Torna A Surriento all have their roots here among our lemon trees. Italian music was transported by Italian migrants throughout the world and is still sung here at home, where most local families carry on the tradition of singing at meals.
The most renowned venue in Sorrento hosts year-round concerts of worldwide famous Jazz, Symphony, and Blues music. Every summer the Sorrento Musical Summer Revue features the best musicians of the major Italian and foreign orchestras.
Cinema: Every year Sorrento hosts one of its prestigious events: The International Cinema Meeting. This is an excellent opportunity to meet the most famous international cinema personalities.

Bars, Ice Cream Shops, and Confectioners : A Must-Do is to eat an ice cream and drink an espresso in Sorrento. Any one of the numerous coffee or ice cream shops is a great distraction on the way to the coast or between shopping.
Shops and Marketplaces: Walking around the narrow streets of the Sorrento peninsula and the Amalfi coast and shopping in their wide variety of shops is definitely a delightful activity. In each of these areas, it is also pleasant to walk through the amazing local and open-aired markets, abundant in fruits and floral fragrances. As in the whole South of Italy, the sun’s position in the sky determines life’s rhythm. Shops here are generally closed in the early afternoon and open later at night, from Monday to Sunday, especially during the summer time. Banks are open in the morning and a couple of hours in the early afternoon, Monday to Friday. Post Offices are open from 9.00 a.m. to 18.00 p.m., Monday to Saturday.
